Venus and Money: How to Use Your Venus Placement to Attract Abundance and Understand Your Spending

By Faith Grace | Faith Grace Inspires

Welcome to the money planets series. We just wrapped up our money houses series covering the 4th, 6th, 8th, and 10th houses, and now we are going even deeper. Because while understanding your money houses tells you where financial energy shows up in your life, your money planets tell you how that energy actually operates. And Venus is the perfect place to start.

I will be honest with you. Jupiter used to be my go-to money planet. And Jupiter is incredible — we will get there. But over the past couple of years, Venus and I have really gotten onto something together. The more I work with this placement, the more I realize how much she has to say about money, magnetism, and the way we attract or block abundance in our daily lives. So let's talk about her.

What Is Venus in Astrology?

Venus is the planet of beauty, pleasure, abundance, and prosperity. Her symbol looks like the feminine symbol, which I love because it is such an accurate representation of her energy. She is receptive, she is magnetic, she is sensory, and she governs the things in life that feel genuinely good.

Venus rules two zodiac signs: Taurus and Libra. And if you have ever spent time with a Taurus or a Libra, you already understand Venus energy intuitively. Taurus people have an eye for quality and a deep appreciation for the physical pleasures of life. Libra people are always finding the balance and have an almost instinctive pull toward beauty and aesthetics. Both signs engage the senses fully, and that is very much what Venus is about.

In your birth chart, Venus shows what you are attracted to and, importantly, what you attract toward you. She governs your values, your taste, your relationship with pleasure, and the way you magnetize resources and opportunities. In money astrology specifically, she is one of the most important planets to understand.

Venus and Your Spending Patterns

Here is the practical money angle that most people do not think to look at with their Venus placement.

Wherever Venus sits in your chart, in whatever sign and house, she gives you a window into what genuinely pleasures you and what pulls you toward impulsive spending. Think about it. When something feels beautiful, when it engages your senses in just the right way, when it aligns with what Venus in your chart defines as desirable, you are much more likely to open your wallet without thinking too hard.

That is not a character flaw. That is Venus doing what she does. But awareness of it is incredibly powerful. When you know your Venus placement, you start to recognize the specific sensory and aesthetic triggers that tend to drive your spending. And that recognition gives you the ability to choose — to enjoy those pleasures intentionally rather than reactively.

So look at your Venus sign and ask yourself honestly: where does my money tend to go when I am feeling emotionally activated, when something feels really good, or when I am seeking comfort? That is often your Venus talking.

Venus and Magnetism: Enhancing Your Receivership

This is the piece of Venus that I think is the most exciting and the most underutilized when it comes to money.

Venus is a magnetic planet. She does not chase…she draws. And one of the most powerful things you can do with your Venus placement is use it intentionally to enhance what I call your receivership. Your capacity to attract, receive, and allow abundance to flow toward you rather than constantly grinding after it.

Now I know magnetism is a buzzword on social media these days, so let me be specific about what I actually mean. This is not about a vague spiritual concept. This is about connecting with your divine feminine, engaging your senses, and getting yourself into a state where your body and your energy are genuinely open to receiving.

Venus is all about the senses. Both Taurus and Libra, the signs she rules, are deeply sensory. They notice what feels good, what smells good, what sounds good, what looks beautiful. And the way to activate your Venus energy is to do exactly that — to slow down and actually engage those senses in whatever way your placement calls for.

Slow living. Breathing deeply. Noticing the wind on your skin or the flowers around you. Burning a candle or wearing a fragrance that makes you feel like yourself. Doing your hair. Listening to music that genuinely moves you. Watching something beautiful. Whatever it is that gets you out of your head and into your body — that is your Venus activation. And when you are in that state, you become significantly more magnetic and receptive to the abundance that is already trying to find you.

Your Venus sign tells you what those specific activators look like for you personally.

Venus in Gemini — A Personal Example

I have Venus in Gemini, and it shows up in such a specific way that I think sharing it will help you see how to apply this to your own placement.

Gemini is a mentally stimulating, communicative, intellectually curious sign. So my Venus activators are very much mind-based. I need good lyricism in my music — a great beat is nice, but if the words are not doing something for my mind I am not as moved. I love reading, poetry, conversations that genuinely engage my thinking. When I am in a really good intellectual flow, when my mind feels fed and alive, that is when I feel most magnetic and most in receivership mode.

When it comes to my aesthetic and spending, I notice I am drawn to things that are clever, interesting, or have a good story. Quality matters to me more now than it used to. I have definitely shifted toward quality over quantity as I have gotten more conscious about my Venus energy.

And with Venus in my 10th house, that energy plays out very publicly. My public image and my business are deeply Venus-ruled, which means showing up in a way that feels genuine and comfortable, talking to you like a friend rather than performing a presentation, is actually the most aligned expression of my placement. When I show up that way the content lands better. When I try to be something more polished or formal it falls flat. My Venus is telling me something important there, and I have learned to listen.

Morning Star Venus vs. Evening Star Venus

This is the layer of Venus that most money astrology content skips over entirely, and I want to make sure we cover it because it genuinely changes how your Venus energy operates.

Beyond your Venus sign and house, there is another layer to consider: whether your Venus was a morning star or an evening star at the time of your birth. This distinction comes from ancient astrology and it has real, practical implications for how you naturally attract and relate to abundance.

How to find out which one you are:

Pull up your birth chart and compare where Venus sits relative to your Sun.

If Venus is at an earlier degree or earlier sign than your Sun, you are a Morning Star Venus. If Venus is at a later degree or later sign than your Sun, you are an Evening Star Venus. If your Venus and Sun are in the same sign, just compare the degrees. A lower degree than your Sun makes you a Morning Star. A higher degree than your Sun makes you an Evening Star.

What it means:

Morning Star Venus is the bolder, more outwardly expressive version of Venusian energy. She rises before the Sun, leading the way. In money terms this often shows up as someone who actively pursues what they desire, who goes after income and opportunities with a fresh, spontaneous, almost instinctive energy. Morning Star Venus earns and attracts through initiative and visible self-expression.

Evening Star Venus rises after the Sun and is visible at dusk. She is more reflective, deliberate, and magnetic in her approach. In money terms this often shows up as someone who draws resources toward them through presence, reputation, and being sought out rather than chasing. Evening Star Venus attracts through depth, intentionality, and the kind of quiet magnetism that makes people come to her.

Neither is better than the other. They are simply different expressions of Venus energy, and knowing which one you are can help you stop working against your own natural attraction style and start leaning into it.

How to Work With Your Venus Placement

Here is how to start putting all of this into practice:

Find your Venus sign and house. Pull up your birth chart on Astro.com and locate Venus. Note the sign and the house. The sign tells you the flavor of your Venus energy — what kinds of things, aesthetics, and experiences activate her. The house tells you the area of life where that energy most naturally expresses itself and where abundance tends to flow most easily for you.

Identify your spending triggers. Look at your Venus sign and get honest about the kinds of things that pull you toward impulse spending. Knowing this is not about restriction. It is about awareness so you can choose consciously rather than react automatically.

Activate your senses intentionally. Based on your Venus sign, what engages your senses and gets you into a receptive, open, magnetic state? Build more of that into your daily life. This is genuinely a financial strategy, not just a self-care practice.

Determine your Venus type. Check whether you are a Morning Star or Evening Star Venus using the method above, and consider how that shows up in the way you naturally attract income and resources. Are you a natural initiator or a natural magnetizer? Both work. The key is knowing which one you are so you can stop fighting it.

Notice where Venus is showing you resistance. Sometimes the house or sign Venus sits in also shows where you have blocks around receiving. Where in your life do you deflect compliments, refuse help, or struggle to accept abundance when it comes? That pattern is worth looking at.

Venus In Your Abundance Blueprint

Here is the thing about Venus that I want you to really take with you.

She is not just about love and beauty in some vague, decorative sense. She is a real financial planet. She governs what you value, what you attract, what you allow yourself to receive, and the energetic state that either opens or closes you to abundance.

When you work with your Venus placement consciously, when you know your spending patterns, your sensory activators, your natural attraction style, and your Venus type, you start to relate to money very differently. It stops being something you have to constantly chase and hustle after. And it starts to feel more like something you are genuinely in relationship with.

That is the Venus way. And she has been trying to show you this all along.
