Pluto Lines Aren’t the Big Bad Wolf

Okay… it’s time to talk about the elephant in the room. I’ve had several clients confess that the thought of visiting or relocating to one of their Pluto lines feels like voluntarily putting themselves through hell (pun intended, if you know anything about Pluto).

I cannot tell you how many times people come to me… they’re initially super excited about a place, but suddenly their face drops when they realize a Pluto line may be nearby or directly on this location. This terror usually comes from a plethora of fear-mongering expressed so eloquently on Reddit posts, a few hours of doom scrolling on TikTok, and a generic breakdown of Pluto’s energy being all bad and about death and loss (omit everything else, right?).

You cannot have renewal and transformation without decay and destruction on some level.

Meaning, many people who are drawn to or seeking destinations on Pluto lines are those who are ready for a change. Not in the Uranus type of way—where it's unexpected, it's unique, it's getting you out of a “rut.” This change is deeper. This is more of a pruning and purification that goes down to the root of how or why you were truly in a rut to begin with.

Pluto lines allow us to actively participate in shadow work. These destinations are powerful.

However, many people report feeling stuck along these lines. This feeling is usually psychological vs. physical. Usually, when dealing with Plutonian energy, the stuckness comes when there’s a resistance to change, to letting go, to death (physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc.). This sometimes leads to a slow decay, which creates even more problems.

I’ll be honest and say that Pluto lines are not for the faint of heart. But the true cost of interacting with a Pluto line is inner alchemy—the kind that’s felt deep within your core. If you aren’t ready to face yourself, fully, then I’d recommend that you only visit these lines when you are ready.

Pluto ASC Line:

This is where you go to meet the real you—the one that you may stuff down into the back of your mind quite often. Welcome to your “villain” arc. There may be parts of yourself that emerge along this line that you’ve never even witnessed before, and others will notice it too. Thus, your relationships will inevitably change here.

The idea is to fully get in touch with yourself. We must honor the shadow as much as the light. Only then do we find real inner peace. You may experience new ideas, desires, or flat-out impulses that don’t align with your usual behavior. It could be subtle and only brought to your attention by others…or it could be loud, and you seem like a completely different person. Know that whatever is surfacing here is meant to be witnessed and integrated.

Pluto IC Line:

This is the place to go to connect with your roots. Themes from your early childhood or adolescence may show up here. The beliefs, stories, experiences, or even history of your childhood/adolescence, relationships with your parents, or hometown may resurface.

What cycles you learned or experienced in the past are still influencing how you operate as an adult today? You may even experience connections or memories from past lives in these places. There is sometimes a deep soul connection to the lands associated with one’s Pluto IC line.

Pluto DSC Line:

Along this line, your personal or 1:1 relationships enter the pressure cooker. I’m not saying that your relationships will automatically fall apart. I’m saying that the work or maintenance that many people avoid in relationships will be highlighted along these lines.

The conversations that have been avoided, the habits that have been tolerated, the secrets a partner may be hiding (it could be something as simple as a secret snack drawer or as drastic as infidelity), the assessment of your true compatibility, etc. will all come to the surface along this line.

You could also meet some very powerful connections here that elevate you in society, work, or business. Any obstacles that you face between yourself and another person come up to be transmuted here. Arguments and challenges aren’t fun, but they can be healing if we allow them to be—and that is what this energy is about. It’s about avoiding the build-up and assessing an issue head-on instead of letting it fester.

Pluto MC Line:

This is where you go to meet your inner CEO. No, not the one that brown-nosed their way to the top—but the one who knew exactly when to do what and when. This line is where your social status, career, or business will never be the same.

What legacy have you been building for your life? You may be rolling with the high rollers and very influential people here. You may enter rooms that you’ve only dreamed of entering.

The only catch? This energy will guide you to assess if what you’re doing has really been worth your time in the grand scheme of life. Have you achieved your success by adhering to your inner values—or manipulating the system and lying to yourself about it?

If it’s the latter, your world may crash and burn here. I’d highly recommend against any foul play along this line.

So, Pluto lines are in fact not the big bad wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing. If anything, these lines activate the wolves within our psyches that have been primed by society, our environments or communities, or even the previous generations. If you aren’t ready to face yours, then beware of these locations.
