New Moon in Leo 2025: Show Them ALL of You

Leo season has officially entered the chat and is ushering in a new moon along with it. The sign of Leo is all about the heart, being bold, courageous, etc. It’s medicine is learning when to be seen…fully, without restraints, masks, or filters. This is the vibe of this new moon. We’re learning to stand in our truth, even when it attempts to swallow us whole.

This new moon is happening on July 24th at 2 degrees Leo conjunct the Sun (and very very  loosely with Mercury). Thus, the start to Leo season is full of POTENT energy! The themes around this new moon are:

  • Addressing wounds of the heart

  • Emotional Alchemy

  • Heart Coherence

  • Introspection, Introspection, Introspection!

Check out the video breakdown HERE!

Recently in meditation, I kept hearing the phrase “I want to roar”, and that really resonated with me as a Leo rising. As I continued to unpack what that really means for me (and for the collective), I had the realization that not everyone’s “roar” or big stage, 15 minutes of fame moments will be grand and glamorous like social media or movies portray.

Sometimes true moments of being seen or when your hair is a mess, your make up is running, and you don’t care who’s watching, you just want to be. And the best times, are when the people around you accept you for you and love on you anyways, yes even when you feel a mess!

The Sun, Moon, and Chiron:

This new moon is pretty much following the lead of the sun and its best that we allow the sun to supercharge us with the courage to face our emotions head on (Uranus is also offering a helping hand but more on that later).

At the time of writing this, we are already feeling the effects of the Sun squaring Chiron in Aries. This aspect is guiding us to allow our wounds to step into the healing light of Leo. Triggers of various kinds may come up as the moon enters this dance.

When the moon is in Leo, there can be this deep inner urge to be acknowledged, to be rewarded for your efforts, to be..well, seen. When that doesn’t happen, it can feel like your world or life has been a sham or a lie. Like all your efforts were in vain.

I encourage you to sit with those feelings. Don’t stuff them down, they are coming up to be healed, purified.

The Sun, Moon, and Pluto:

Speaking of purification and alchemy, we also have Pluto in the mix (yay lol)! Pluto is the planet of rebirth, transmutation, death (for this writing I’ll be focused on egoic deaths), alchemy, etc.

During this time, the sun and moon will be in direct opposition to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. This energy may challenge us to embrace our heart’s desires vs the desires of the collective/your community. Are you truly doing what you know is right in your heart or what your ego wants you to do?

Be mindful as Leo energy can manifest as childish, selfish, or petty when we operate in a lower octave (yes, even if we really have good intentions).

On the other end, Aquarius is the sign for the people and collective consciousness but in lower octaves this energy can manifest as one thinking that qualities such as being “unique” or “eclectic” equates to being superior.

Several things could arise under this energy: power dynamics , pressures to perform, or the need to control a situation. I highly recommend that you embrace vulnerability and sharing your thoughts and emotions in a respectful way during this time.

Don’t Forget about What Merucy’s Cooking

As a reminder, Mercury is also in the sign of Leo and is retrograde. I’ll spare you the details in this blog post but you can check out my previous blog post here and read all about it.

So, why does this matter for the new moon? The whole point of Mercury retrograde is to do internal reflection on your life (for the past 3 months or even further) and make a game plan to adjust accordingly.

Now, if we look at the themes and areas that we discussed towards the beginning of this blog, things from the past may come up for you to revisit. Previous doubts, fears, or good ole imposter syndrome emotions may arise.

This is normal. Again, they are coming up to be witnessed

The Sun, Moon, and Uranus:

The Sun and Moon in Leo will be sextiling Uranus in Gemini during this time. This is the warm blanket, the deep hug after a long cry, the older sibling or trusted the friend that cheers you on as you stand in your power (even if you’re unsure).

As mentioned earlier, this energy will support us in leading from our hearts. When the Sun is trine Uranus we actually feel comfortable being the different ones, the trailblazers, and others tend to embrace our uniqueness.

Don’t be surprised if you experience heightened intuition during this time. With the moon also trining Uranus, you may feel less of a need to “prove” yourself. This transit gives you a sense of openness emotionally.

During this time, don’t be surprised if you meet new people from various backgrounds and cultures. You could even find yourself in a racy romance during this time(especially if you have Venus or Mars in Leo), but I’d recommend not taking it too seriously under this transit.

Mars in Virgo conjunct the South Node:

There are many other astrological events occurring at the time of the new moon, but I wanted to highlight and close with. Mars is currently in Virgo along with the South Node.

Mars in Virgo energy is…calculated. It’s fine tuned, raw energy and aggression that is best used when it is channeled for a specific goal or purpose.

When this energy is combined with the South Node, there is an extreme emphasis on EFFICIENCY. What’s no longer working?

I have seen several posts on how these placements may be encouraging people to quit their jobs, businesses, or long-term systems/structures. Why? Because the south node can sometimes be like Saturn on steroids.

And in the sign of Virgo, many of us will have the same urgency of a store closing sale: EVERYTHING. MUST. GO.

New Moon in Leo Horoscopes

Please be sure to check your rising sign as this will show you exactly where this energy is being activated in your chart. But, if you like to check your sun and moon signs for kicks and giggles, be my guest!

Leo (1st House – Identity, Self, and Personal Power)

This is your new moon. It’s a total rebrand of the self. You're being asked to step into your most authentic identity—no filters, no fluff. What version of you have you been dimming to make others comfortable? Shed that. Acknowledge the masks you've been wearing and let this new moon be your cosmic permission slip to walk boldly in your truth.

Virgo (12th House – Subconscious, Healing, Surrender)

You're moving through quiet internal healing. This isn’t about outward transformation—this is soul-level, behind-the-scenes, crying-on-the-bathroom-floor type shifts. It’s time to purge outdated narratives, especially around self-worth and being “useful.” Your power comes from release, not control right now. Rest, reset, and listen to what your dreams are whispering.

Libra (11th House – Community, Dreams, Visibility)

This new moon is calling in aligned community and future goals. Have you been people-pleasing or shrinking in your social spaces? No more. It’s time to show up as you, fully. Let yourself be seen for the dreamer, innovator, and heart-led visionary that you are. Let your dreams stretch beyond what’s “realistic.”

Scorpio (10th House – Career, Purpose, Public Life)

Big spotlight energy. This new moon activates your legacy. What do you really want to be known for? If you’ve been working behind the scenes or doubting your worth, this is your cosmic push to take up space. Make that offer, speak on that stage, ask for that promotion, launch that project. Your power lies in your willingness to be seen as a leader.

Sagittarius (9th House – Beliefs, Expansion, Wisdom)

This moon is asking you to rewrite the stories you've been told about who you should be. It’s time to reconnect with your truth—and that might mean booking a trip, returning to school, or diving into spiritual studies. You’re stepping into a new worldview, one where your heart leads and your beliefs reflect your lived experience.

Capricorn (8th House – Transformation, Shadow Work, Power)

Whew—deep emotional waters. This moon is here to show you where you’ve been holding onto pain, fear, or power dynamics that no longer serve you. Let yourself shed. Whether it’s a financial entanglement, an old relationship wound, or control patterns—you’re being reborn through release. Trust the purge. It’s making space for a more empowered you.

Aquarius (7th House – Relationships, Mirrors, Balance)

Relationships are your mirror right now. Where are you holding back in love, friendship, or business partnerships? This moon is asking you to show up fully—heart first—and let people truly see you. And yes, it’s scary. But vulnerability is your superpower here. Set new intentions around how you want to be seen and supported by others.

Pisces (6th House – Health, Habits, Sacred Routines)

It’s time to fine-tune your daily life. Are your routines aligned with your heart? This new moon is a chance to make practical, soul-led changes to your schedule, your health practices, or even your work environment. You deserve systems that support your shine—not ones that drain it. Be honest about what’s working and what’s gotta go.

Aries (5th House – Creativity, Romance, Inner Child)

This is a heart chakra activation. You’re being asked to reconnect with joy, play, and creative expression. What lights you up? What would 8-year-old you be proud of? Whether it's art, romance, or being bold in your self-expression—this new moon is your stage. Don’t hold back. Let love and creativity pour from you without apology.

Taurus (4th House – Home, Roots, Emotional Safety)

This moon invites you inward. Your home—literal or emotional—wants your attention. What does safety feel like? What does it look like to belong to yourself? You may feel called to rework your space, heal family patterns, or establish boundaries that honor your heart. The roots you're planting now will nourish you for years to come.

Gemini (3rd House – Communication, Mindset, Expression)

Your voice matters. This new moon is lighting up your throat chakra and asking you to get honest about what you believe, how you speak, and what you’ve been too scared to say. It’s a great time to start writing, speaking, or simply thinking in a new way. Challenge the mental loops that keep you small.

Cancer (2nd House – Worth, Money, Self-Value)

Let this new moon be a declaration: I am worthy. Your value doesn’t come from productivity or praise—it comes from your essence. This lunation is helping you shift your relationship to money, confidence, and ownership of your gifts. Set intentions around how you want to earn, save, and stand firm in your value moving forward.

This new moon is an invitation to begin a new timeline. You have the power to set the stage for a life where you literally bat to your own drum.

The price? Being seen for all of you (yes, even your shadows) and standing firm and boldly in the light anyways.

You got this. I see you.
