How to Generate Your Astrocartography Map on Astro.com

So, you now have a better idea about Astrocartography and how it works. Now, you may be wondering, how do I generate my map? (If you aren’t, check out this previous blog post).

This article will walk you through the process of creating your own Astrocartography map using Astro.com, step-by-step, so you can start exploring your planetary lines and their potential influences.

Note: I have also created a video below for those who are more visual learners.

Step 1: Go to Astro.com

Visit www.astro.com. This is one of the most trusted and widely used astrology websites. You don’t need to create an account to generate a basic map, but creating one allows you to save your data for future use.

Step 2: Navigate to the Free Charts Section

On the homepage, hover over or click the “Free Horoscopes” tab in the main menu. From there, scroll down to “Extended Chart Selection” or “AstroClick Travel” under the “Interactive Horoscopes” section.

  • AstroClick Travel gives you an interactive map where you can click on lines for explanations.

Note: You will need to create an account if you haven’t already.

Step 3: Enter Your Birth Data

You’ll need your:

  • Exact birth date

  • Exact birth time (to the minute, if possible)

  • Birthplace (city, state, and country)

Accurate birth time is essential, as even a small difference can shift the location of your planetary lines.

Step 4: Generate Your Map

Once your birth details are entered, click “Continue” or “Click here to show the chart.” Your Astrocartography map will appear with colored lines running across a world map. Each line represents a planetary influence when you are in or near that location.

Step 5: Understand the Map Layout

You’ll see lines marked with planetary symbols (☉ for Sun, ☽ for Moon, etc.) and abbreviations like MC (Midheaven), IC (Imum Coeli), AS (Ascendant), and DS (Descendant).

  • MC lines relate to career, visibility, and life direction.

  • IC lines relate to home, roots, and family connections.

  • Ascendant lines influence how you present yourself and how others perceive you.

  • Descendant lines influence relationships and partnerships.

If you’re using AstroClick Travel, you can click on any line to read a short description of what that planet’s energy might bring in that location.

Astrocartography Simplified Handbook

Your soul has a map, and Astrocartography is the compass!

This e-book is an introductory deep dive into the art and practice of Astrocartography: the study of how your birth chart connects to different locations on Earth. Designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, it will help you move beyond vague one-line definitions and start interpreting your map with more accuracy and confidence.

This e-book is 69 pages and is structured as more of a “cookbook” style or guidebook. If you are beginner, this tool is still useful but you will need a basic understanding of astrology.

Inside, you’ll discover:

  • What Astrocartography Is – The foundations of this practice and how it connects astrology to geography.

  • How to Generate Your Chart – Step-by-step guidance on creating your own Astrocartography map.

  • What It’s Used For – From relocation and travel planning to love, career, and personal healing.

  • The Four Angles in a Chart – Why Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and IC lines matter so much.

  • Planetary Line Meanings – A deep dive into each planet (and points like Chiron and the North Node), with interpretations for all four angles.

  • Relocated Charts – How to pull and read them for even deeper clarity.

  • Parans – What they are, how to spot them, and what they reveal.

  • Local Space Lines – How to generate a local space line map and what it can tell you about your immediate environment.

  • Tips & Tricks for Reading Your Map – Practical advice for making sense of it all without overwhelm.

This e-book doesn’t cover everything (Astrocartography is a lifelong practice) but it’s designed to give you a strong foundation, so you can begin to explore your map with fresh eyes, sharper insight, and more intentionality in how (and where) you live, love, and travel.

Whether you’re daydreaming about your next move, planning intentional travel, or simply curious why certain places feel so different, this e-book will help you decode your cosmic coordinates and bring them down to Earth.

Step 6: Save or Print Your Map

For future reference, you can screenshot your map or, if you have an account, save it directly on Astro.com. You might also want to print it out so you can mark places you’ve lived, traveled to, or are considering visiting.

Step 7: What to Do With Your Map Now
