Full Moon in Leo: Dropping the Performance & Returning to the Heart
Full Moon in Leo at 13° | 5:09 PM EST
The full moon in Leo is coming in hot and is calling our attention to the HEART. Leo at its higher octave has a focus on the heart, being open, and having the courage to be vulnerable and our true selves. This full moon is lighting up the areas of our chart (and our lives) where we are being called to drop the performance, drop the act or facade, and live in our truth.
Opposing an Aquarius Stellium of Planets
We have Pluto in Aquarius. Mars is in Aquarius as well as the Sun, Venus, and Mercury! These planets are all opposing our new moon in Leo! There is an obvious push and pull between our individuality vs how we show up in the collective. On a global scale, this is an obvious push and pull between the powers of the world and how the collective is being served. On a personal scale, are we calling BS when we see it? Are we speaking out from the heart? Or are we being a performative NPC? Are we playing our roles as long as the chaos and injustice isn’t toooo close to home? This full moon is creating an outcry two things:
Collectively-for truth to be spoken and for the heart of the collective to be felt.
Individually- for each one of us to pay closer attention to what lights us up, what nurtures our inner child, and in what ways do we need to let go of roles or performances that no longer serve us?
With Venus and Mercury also in Aquarius during this time, don’t be surprised if you are consistently get new ideas or artistic inspirations. The energy of recent weeks has been encouraging us to embrace and display our eccentric styles and unique ideas/perspectives.
Uranus in Taurus (Retrograde):
As Uranus wraps up its final days in Retrograde, it encourages us to beg the question: “What do we truly value? When do we actually put our money where our mouths are?” I say this as Taurus rules food, comfort, luxury, stability, land, the THROAT, etc. Collectively, there has been a common sentiment of things not being okay (due to atrocious global events) but when does this change actually start to happen? The energy of this new moon is about boldness, courage, leadership, etc. Are you doing things or living your life in a way that preserves your comfort in exchange for your silence or tolerating a world you that you don’t actually have hope for or believe in? In what ways can you be the change? Uranus encourages us to go off script, be the black sheep, defy the odds. How can you do this on a micro-scale in your own life? And what changes can you make personally that contribute to a macro-scale, global change for the collective? Taurus energy is slow, but it stable. It’s firm. The values and tolerances of the collective need to be addressed before Uranus goes back into Gemini (where there’s an influx of information and we truly began to see the true “faces” of reality and the world around us).
Neptune in Aries
I’m sure you’ve heard it about 1,000 times by now, but Neptune is officially in Aries! I have a pending blog post about this that is on my to-do list, I promise. But for now, let’s talk about how this energy is adding yet another layer of FIRE to this new moon. Neptune is another generational planet so the energy of this shift may not affect us on individual level right away. However, the energy of Neptune in Pisces vs. Neptune in Aries is VERY different. As Neptune exited Pisces, we already saw the veil thinning as more things concerning government, social media, the Hollywood and musical industry (film and music being ruled by this planet), were exposed. The veil is now completely gone. Or so most people think. The funny thing about Neptune is…there’s always some type of disillusionment. It just changes color, filter, or signs. Let’s be very clear, Neptune in Pisces promoted a lot of need for a savior, escapism, merging with something bigger than yourself, etc. Now, with Neptune in Aries, we have to come to terms with the fact that no one is going to save us. We must be the spark, the force, the one to go first. We have to be self starting and understand how to create the world we want to see for ourselves. But as I scroll through social media and read the various interpretations of this energy, I often question will this create a new illusion of hyper-individualism, self appointed wisdom, and essentially a world of people who aren’t willing to slow down and learn from others? Maybe that’s my gemini placements coming out. Moving on!

Journal Prompts
If you enjoy journaling, reflect on the following prompts:
Where in my life am I performing instead of expressing what’s actually true for me? What am I afraid would happen if I stopped?
Is my ego at war with my heart right now in certain areas of my life?
What genuinely lights me up right now? How much space does this part of me get compared to obligations, roles, or expectations?
Where do my values and my actions feel out of alignment? What is one small, tangible way I can begin to close that gap?
This Full moon is creating an energetic shift that truly kicks off the astrology of February in a bold way. It’s a catalyst for change that we’ve been unconsciously waiting for. Take this time to re-align yourself and to celebrate how far you’ve come. Think about your life and what was going on for you during the Capricorn New Moon. What has changed? What have you created? What are you now inspired to create? Pour into that and have the courage to show up for yourself.
